Long periods of sitting in home offices and closed gyms have led to many people putting on extra pounds in recent months. Getting rid of them is often not that easy. But with CoolSculpting, we can get rid of those annoying fat deposits ice-cold. This is because this treatment makes use of the cryolipolysis procedure. Today we would like to present the ten most important facts about the CoolSculpting treatment.

1. cryolipolysis is slimming through cold

Cryolipolysis was developed by doctors Dieter Manstein and R. Rox Anderson at Harvard Medical School in Boston. They discovered that fat cells are more affected by cold than the surrounding tissue and skin. The name cryolipolysis is made up of the Greek "kryos" for "cold" and "lipos" for "dissolution". As the name suggests, the cryolipolysis procedure can dissolve fatty tissue through cold treatment.

2 CoolSculpting was developed by Zeltiq

Based on the scientific findings of Dr. Manstein and Dr. Anderson, Zeltiq then succeeded in providing clinical proof of the cold procedure. From this, Zeltiq developed CoolSculpting, an effective product for permanent fat reduction through cryolipolysis. The CoolSculpting treatment may only be carried out by doctors.

3. coolSculpting melts fat cells

During the CoolSculpting treatment, the specially developed CoolSculpting CoolAdvantage applicator uses a vacuum bell to specifically cool the treatment area. The intense cooling causes the fat cells to undergo apoptosis, or controlled cell death, after the treatment. The dead fat cells are then removed naturally by the body. In this way, the excess fatty tissue disappears over the following weeks.

4. lasting results after 2 to 3 months

It takes around two to three months before the final results of the CoolSculpting treatment are visible. This is because it takes this long for the dead fat cells to be completely removed. The great advantage of CoolSculpting is that the result is permanent, as no new fat cells are formed.

5. result often already after 1 treatment

For most patients, one treatment is sufficient for a satisfactory result. This is because around 30% of the fat cells in the treated tissue die after each treatment session.

6. the CoolSculpting treatment is quick

A CoolSculpting treatment session lasts between 35 and 75 minutes. The duration also depends on the area being treated. CoolSculpting can be used to successfully treat annoying fat deposits on the hips, stomach, thighs, upper arms or even a double chin.
