When you hear words like Dracula or vampire, you probably don't immediately think of a beauty treatment. But this is exactly what is behind the so-called vampire lift. In medical terms, the method is called PRP treatment and refers to a procedure in which we harness the body's own regenerative powers to give you youthful, fresh and smooth skin and counteract hair loss. Today we present the 5 most important facts about PRP treatment.

Two major areas of application

PRP therapy is used in two areas in the aesthetic field: as a skin treatment for tightening, wrinkles and scars and as a method for hair thickening. At OmniMed, we offer both of these treatments in our practices in Eisenstadt and Klagenfurt.

PRP treatment uses the body's own forces

With PRP treatment, we work with the power of the body's own regenerative forces. This is because PRP (platelet rich plasma) is extracted from the blood and re-injected. This is particularly rich in growth factors, which are responsible for skin renewal and cell regeneration.

ARTHREX PRP treatment

The treatment process

In PRP therapy, blood is first taken, which is then separated into red and white blood in the centrifuge. At OmniMed, we use the double syringe from the medical device manufacturer Arthrex for this. The plasma obtained in this way is then administered again - either with a fine needle or with the Dermapen, depending on the indication.

PRP treatment lasts a long time

When you start PRP therapy, we usually recommend three treatments at one-month intervals. To refresh the effect, a further treatment unit can be carried out after one year.

PRP is well tolerated

As we work with the body's own blood during PRP treatment, there are no intolerance reactions to the material with this method. In addition, the treatment is gentle and virtually pain-free thanks to an anesthetic gel.
