Consultation: During the first appointment a detailed consultation will be conducted with you. If you wish, we can start the treatment the same day. All Botox treatments with us are always divided into 2 sessions, which has the advantage of avoiding over-injection and an "artificial facial expression".
Preparation: The treatment area is carefully cleaned and treated with a skin-friendly disinfectant to minimize the risk of infection.
Treatment: A Botox treatment is performed with a very thin needle that causes hardly any pain. The result is visible after about one week. Depending on the dose used and the area, the effect lasts between 3 and 6 months.
It is important to only undergo treatment with a doctor who has the necessary experience in treating wrinkles with Botox. Find out whether the doctor performs this treatment conscientiously and not just "on the side." A comprehensive consultation and a detailed analysis of your wishes, goals, and—very importantly—limitations are a must. If too high a dose is used or the treatment is performed in the wrong places, the dreaded mask-like faces or faces with unnatural expressions, as seen in various media, can result.
Aftercare: After 14 days all our patients receive a second appointment in which we optimize the existing result free of charge. If the treatment is repeated in the same area, the so-called "Botox effect" occurs. This means that the muscles increasingly forget how to form wrinkles and the result lasts increasingly longer.
Care instructions: We inject Botox very precisely into the muscles that cause the wrinkles. Until the effect of the Botox wrinkle treatment takes effect, which is to be expected after about one week, it is important that no strong pressure is applied to the treated area. For example, a cosmetic treatment that involves vigorous cleansing, or a facial massage, should only be performed after one week. Likewise, you should avoid saunas, steam baths or tanning beds/sunbathing for this period, as an increased body temperature can reduce the duration of BTX's effect. However, you can continue your usual facial care or sports activities.
Follow-up treatments: As a general rule: the higher your muscle activity and the deeper the existing facial wrinkles are, the shorter the intervals between Botox treatments should be. Generally the treatment lasts 3–6 months depending on the area. Most of our patients have the treatment 2–3 times a year.

Facial wrinkles fundamentally develop over the course of life due to the loss of elastic fibers of the skin and a loss of fat and connective tissue. Furthermore, the musculature, with its mimetic muscles, is significantly involved in the development of wrinkles. Small lines that can be voluntarily produced in the face – when certain muscles are tensed, such as when frowning – belong to the expression lines.
Some people have pronounced mimetic musculature. They can make the movement of this muscle very frequently or very strongly. If contractions of this muscle group are repeated often, they can lead to a "indentation" of the wrinkles. In colloquial language these wrinkles are also called "frown line", "thinker's forehead" or "crow's feet" called. Such wrinkles can become so ingrained as early as the 20s that they remain visible even when relaxed. As a result, affected persons often appear angry or sad, even though they do not want to.
Here, a visible smoothing of the bothersome wrinkles is desired while preserving facial expression. Some patients are hesitant to have Botox injected because, as is well known, it is a toxin produced by bacteria. But as is often the case in medicine, the dose is the decisive factor here as well.Botulinum toxin alias Botox is essentially a medication that is capable of selectively weakening the action of individual muscles. For example, Botox is used every day for medical purposes in neurology to reduce problems with muscle cramps (blepharospasm, torticollis, spasticity). Many drugs used in medicine are poisons, but here the guiding principle applies: "The dose makes the poison" In a Botox wrinkle treatment, only a harmless amount is used, so you don't have to worry. The so-called therapeutic window is very large for botulinum toxin. That means you would have to inject about 50 vials of Botox for it to become toxic to humans.
There are different types of Botox; BTX-A is usually used for aesthetic treatments. Botox works by blocking the transmission of information from the nerves to the muscle, so that muscle contraction is prevented to the desired extent depending on the dose and, above all, according to your wishes. This means that the treated muscle can no longer be tensed as strongly afterwards.

In a Botox application we do not treat the wrinkles themselves, but their cause. That means we weaken the relevant muscles to achieve as smooth an appearance as possible. If deep-set wrinkles are already present before the treatment, a combination treatment with Hyaluronic acid may be indicated. We will discuss this at the consultation appointment.

The so-called Botox effect occurs when the Botox treatment is repeated several times in the same area. The permanent relaxation causes the muscles to increasingly forget how to form wrinkles, which means that the results of the treatment last longer.
If patients already have deeply indented wrinkles, Botox treatment alone can sometimes no longer lead to the desired results. In this case, we recommend a combination treatment of Botox and hyaluronic acid.

The price for treating frown lines starts at €270, while combined treatment of frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead wrinkles starts at €470.
