On average, we recommend 6 sessions for our patients, to be completed within 3 weeks. Each session lasts 30 minutes. During this time, you sit comfortably and fully clothed on the EMSELLA chair. Treatment device and technology
EMSELLA pelvic floor training
Many female patients suffer from increasing stress incontinence, especially in old age and after giving birth. However, men can also suffer from bladder weakness due to a weak pelvic floor or prostate problems. For a long time, this could only be remedied with a rather complicated operation. With the EMSELLA chair from BTL, a non-invasive treatment method has now been available for some time to strengthen the pelvic floor.
The HIFEM technology
Pelvic floor training with EMSELLA works thanks to HIFEM technology. HIFEM stands for High Intensity Focused ElectroMagnetic. This means that the treatment uses electromagnetic waves to cause supramaximal muscle contractions. This effectively trains the pelvic floor while patients sit comfortably on the EMSELLA chair. The treatment therefore acts directly on the pelvic floor, whereas with other incontinence training methods, the patient has to do something themselves.
The EMSELLA effect
The EMSELLA treatment tightens and strengthens the pelvic floor. This not only counteracts incontinence, but also improves sexual sensation. In addition, the patient's own perception of the pelvic floor is improved, which enables targeted training of the muscle. Nocturnal visits to the toilet or trips to the toilet that disrupt sleep are reduced, making sleep more restful overall. An additional positive side effect of the treatment: the muscle contractions triggered by the magnetic field also strengthen the lower back and lower abdominal muscles. This leads to an overall strong core.

Background knowledge
EMSELLA against incontinence
A strong pelvic floor muscle is important for improving or preventing bladder weakness and incontinence. It is also part of our core, the center of our body. It protects and lifts the organs and supports our entire torso. This is why there are various training methods and sports such as Pilates that aim to strengthen the pelvic floor. The problem with this is that targeted training of this muscle must first be learned and is not always successful. With the innovative EMSELLA Chair from BTL Aesthetics, pelvic floor training is possible without any effort at all.
Effects of a weakened pelvic floor
Women are particularly affected by a weak pelvic floor. This important muscle often no longer supports us properly, especially after childbirth or the menopause. And this can lead to incontinence. When sneezing, laughing or coughing, urine can suddenly leak out. In addition, an increased urge to urinate at night can disrupt a healthy sleep rhythm. Targeted training of the pelvic floor with the EMSELLA chair's HIFEM technology can resolve these problems. As a result, patients regain a great deal of quality of life.
Studies / scientific confirmation
EMSELLA against incontinence

Safe incontinence treatment for the pelvic floor
Treatment with EMSELLA not only delivers impressive results, it is also particularlysafe. The procedure has been approved by theUSFood and Drug Administration (FDA) and isCE certified for the EU. This means that patients can rely on a safe, tested treatment method for the pelvic floor.
