Hyaluronidase treatment at OmniMed

Treatment procedure

Hyaluronidase / Hylase

Consultation: At OmniMed, we not only specialize in hyaluronic acid injections, but also have experience in correcting these injections and are happy to advise you. To properly assess the results of a hyaluronic acid injection, it is important to wait about two weeks after the treatment, for example in the lip area. Then we can determine together with our patients whether a correction using hyaluronidase is necessary.

Preparation: The treatment area is cleaned and disinfected. If desired, a local anesthetic ointment can be applied beforehand.

Treatment: The Hylase is then injected. As with all other injections, we proceed with caution and use as little material as possible in the first step. This is particularly important with hyaluronidase to ensure that the body's own hyaluronic acid is not dissolved.

Follow-up treatment: After two weeks, the results of the Hylase treatment are assessed and, if necessary, another injection is administered.

treatment technology

Hyaluronidase / Hylase

Hyaluronidase or hylase is an enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid. It does this by converting it into a liquid mass. It can be used for the correction of injections with hyaluronic acids from all manufacturers such as Teosyal, Juvederm, Belotero, Restylane etc.

Since hyaluronidase is also able to dissolve hyaluron naturally occurring in the body, the correction should only be carried out by experienced specialists.

What is hyaluronidase used for?

When hyaluronic acid is injected, the gel takes the path of least resistance in the tissue. Even with careful treatment, it can happen that this path is different than expected. The hyaluronic acid then settles in an undesirable location. Hyaluronidase can be used to dissolve such unevenness, lumps, or knots. The Tyndall effect, in which the filler shimmers bluishly through the skin, can also be remedied with Hylase.

Background knowledge

Hyaluronidase / Hylase

Hyaluronic acid injections are used for wrinkle treatment and facial modeling, such as in liquid lifting. In most cases, these injections are complication-free. However, problems can sometimes arise. It can also happen that patients are not satisfied with the results of hyaluronic acid injections, or that they had imagined the results to be different. If this is the case, the doctors at OmniMed can correct it by injecting hyaluronidase. This enzyme dissolves hyaluronic acid and thus serves as an effective antidote. This possibility of reversing the result is also one of the great advantages of hyaluronic acid injections.

Why choose OmniMed?

Hyaluronidase / Hylase

Hylase also has the ability to dissolve hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body. To prevent this from happening, corrections with hyaluronidase should always be performed by competent specialists. At OmniMed, we specialize in non-invasive treatments and therefore have extensive experience with injections and the use of both hyaluronic acid and Hylase.

FAQs

Hyaluronidase / Hylase

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that can specifically break down hyaluronic acid. It is used to correct undesirable results after wrinkle injections - e.g. overcorrection, nodule formation or asymmetrical results.

The treatment is useful if hyaluronic fillers have not been incorporated correctly, have shifted, create too much volume or the result looks unnatural. Rapid dissolution may also be necessary in cases of intolerance.

Basically yes - provided it is non-cross-linked or cross-linked hyaluronic acid on a non-permanent basis. Permanent or non-CE-certified fillers cannot usually be dissolved.

The hyaluronidase is injected with pinpoint accuracy using a fine needle. The effect sets in within a few minutes to hours, complete degradation usually takes place within 24 to 72 hours.

The treatment is generally well tolerated. A local anesthetic can be administered if necessary. A slight burning sensation or feeling of pressure directly after the injection is possible, but usually only lasts for a short time.

Temporary swelling, redness or hematomas at the injection site are possible.

Yes, a new wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid is possible - but at the earliest 7 to 14 days after the dissolution, so that the tissue can calm down sufficiently.
