Treatment procedure

Autologous blood therapy

Preparation: Followinga detailed consultation, a small amount of blood (10–12 mL) is drawn and processed in the IMPACT centrifuge.
The blood is spun at high speed to separate its components based on their density. This process separates platelet-rich plasma from the other blood components.

Treatment: Once the centrifugation process is complete, the autologous platelet concentrate is injected using very fine needles or applied topically (following Morpheus8, DermaPen, or laser treatment) to the treatment area. By applying an anesthetic gel to the skin, the procedure can be performed very gently and with virtually no pain, even for particularly sensitive patients.

Aftercare: Increased blood flow following the treatment may cause redness, which can be reduced with a moisturizing cream and a mask.

Follow-up treatments: For rejuvenation treatments, we recommend a course of four treatments administered annually, spaced 3–4 weeks apart. Depending on your initial condition and individual concerns, the results typically last about 6–12 months and should therefore be refreshed regularly.

For rosacea, it is recommended to undergo treatment once a week for approximately 4 weeks. A maintenance treatment is recommended once every three months.

treatment method

Facial Rejuvenation with Autologous Blood: PRP and “Super-PRP”

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and “Super-PRP” (APC – autologous platelet concentrate) are used in facial rejuvenation treatments commonly referred to as“vampire facials”or “PRP facials.”This treatment is highly regarded because it achieves amazing results in a biological and natural way.

This procedure involves injecting PRP or “Super-PRP” to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, and reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars. It can also help promote an even complexion and a fresh appearance.

We call it “Super-PRP” because it contains higher concentrations than standard PRP (900 platelets per microliter) and is therefore considered even more effective. As a highly concentrated platelet concentrate, it delivers remarkable anti-aging results.

Applications and treatment combinations

PRP and “Super-PRP” can be injected locally or combined with microneedling or our innovative Morpheus8 treatmentto enhance the effects of the skin rejuvenation procedure. Microneedling and Morpheus8, as well as laser treatments such as LAVIEEN, create tiny channels in the skin, allowing PRP to penetrate deeper and stimulate collagen production. These combinations are highly effective at improving skin texture, reducing scars, minimizing pore size, and promoting a radiant, fresh complexion.

Because autologous blood treatments stimulate collagen production and improve the thickness and quality of the delicate skin around the eyes, platelet concentrates are frequently used to treat the eye area.

Treatment system

The IMPACT Platform in Autologous Blood Therapy

At OmniMed, we process the patient’s own blood using the IMPACT system. The IMPACT platform enables the production of highly concentrated PRP preparations, such as APC (Autologous Platelet Concentrate) or ACS (Autologous Conditioned Serum), which provide effective treatment for various dermatological and aesthetic conditions. The process for producing PRP, APC, or ACS using the IMPACT centrifuge is fast and fully automated, allowing for treatment in the shortest possible time.

Laser-assisted cutting

The major advantage of processing autologous blood using the IMPACT system is that two separate syringes are connected by a tube within the centrifuge, and the “buffy coat”—which is essential for successful treatment—is aspirated using laser assistance. This ensures that the maximum concentration of growth factors is present and that no counterproductive substances are drawn in.

Valuable "BuffyCoat"

In platelet-rich plasma (PRP, APC, ACS) therapy, the “buffy coat” is the layer from which platelets are extracted during the centrifugation process. The buffy coat is the boundary layer that forms between the plasma and the red blood cells. By isolating these platelets, the resulting concentrate can be used for various therapeutic applications, such as promoting tissue regeneration and healing.

Background knowledge

Autologous blood therapy

Autologous blood therapy is a medical procedure in which a patient’s own blood is used for therapeutic purposes. It is based on the principle that the reinfusion of autologous blood in a processed and concentrated form —as plasma—can have various therapeutic effects on the body. There are several methods and variations of autologous blood therapy.

In medicine, autologous blood therapy is used in many different fields, particularly in orthopedics, sports medicine, dermatology, and aesthetic medicine.

Applications of autologous blood therapy

In dermatology and the field of aesthetics, autologous blood therapy is used for skin rejuvenation, wrinkle reduction, hair loss treatment, and improving skin appearance, as well as for treating pathological skin conditions. Injecting blood plasma enriched with growth factors increases blood flow to the skin and stimulates collagen production (anti-aging).

In orthopedics and sports medicine, autologous blood therapy is frequently used to treat injuries to joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles in order to accelerate healing and promote the regeneration process.

PRP, APC, and ACS in Aesthetic Medicine

Autologous blood therapy using PRP (platelet-rich plasma), APC (autologous platelet concentrate), or ACS (autologous conditioned serum) is gaining popularity in the field of aesthetic medicine due to its potential benefits for various rejuvenation treatments. In aesthetic medicine, PRP or APC (“Super” PRP) is frequently used for facial rejuvenation and to improve skin texture. ACS is used in the field of hair loss for hair restoration and, due to its anti-inflammatory properties, has a positive effect in managing rosacea as well as psoriasis. It alleviates redness and promotes skin regeneration.

studies

Autologous Blood Therapy / Vampire Lift

Studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of stimulating the body’s own production of hyaluronic acid, reducing wrinkles and their depth, and promoting the growth of collagen fibers. PRP and “Super PRP” deliver highly concentrated levels of the body’s own substances to the skin, thereby naturally promoting skin renewal and cell regeneration.

The first effect occurs when collagen and elastin production in the skin is stimulated after about 2–3 weeks; even before that, an increase in skin moisture can already be observed.

side effects

Autologous blood therapy

Since the treatment uses an extract derived from the patient's own blood, there are no adverse reactions.

After the treatment, you will notice increased blood flow, and your face may become red. Applying a moisturizing cream and a soothing mask immediately after the treatment will help reduce redness. There is no downtime; you can resume your normal daily routine the very next day.
