Treating rectus diastasis with EMSCULPT without surgery
Diastasis recti is probably unfamiliar to non-medical people. In this text we would like to explain it and present a possible, sensible type of therapy for it.
Diastasis recti, or rectus diastasis, is defined as a gap between the two sides of the rectus abdominis muscle (straight abdominal muscle, anterior or middle abdominal muscles). This gap between the two muscle strands of the rectus abdominis is caused by a stretching of the linea alba, a connecting layer of collagenous tissue. This weakened abdominal wall can cause back pain and a change in posture in both women and men.
A visible small tummy can protrude and become a cosmetic problem. In addition to being overweight, pregnancy is a very common cause of this. During this time, the rectus recti muscle is stretched particularly strongly by the growing uterus. As a result, many women suffer from a noticeably soft or "protruding" abdominal wall after giving birth. Especially as a young mother, you have little time and energy to do daily workouts to tone your body, although sport would definitely be very useful in this case. It has been proven that strength training of all muscle groups of the abdomen can treat a reduction in this apparently sagging abdominal wall, or at least reduce it if it is very pronounced.
EMSCULPT helps with rectus diastasis
EMSCULPT is a very useful form of therapy that uses electromagnetic energy to contract muscles 20,000 times per session in a completely pain-free way, thus firming and tightening the abdominal wall as quickly as possible. For long-lasting success, 6 treatments within 5-6 weeks are recommended. The results are impressive, with a 16% increase in muscle and a 19% reduction in fat, bringing the abdominal wall back into shape. The rectus diastasis is improved by approx. 11%.
The price is € 1,800 for all 6 treatments. More information about EMSCULPT can be found here and at www.emsculpt.at
EMSCULPT Study
In 2018, physicians Brian M. Kinney and Paula Lozanova conducted a study on the effect of EMSCULPT on the abdominal area at the USC School of Medicine in California. They examined 22 test subjects before the start of a treatment series consisting of the recommended number of sessions with HIFEM technology, as well as two months afterwards and six months later using modern magnetic resonance imaging. The results indicate a significant effect of the electromagnetic field generated by EMSCULPT. Two months after the treatment, the test subjects showed an average reduction in fat tissue of 18.6 %, an increase in abdominal muscles of 15.4 % and a reduction in diastasis rectis of 10.4 %. The results after six months also lead the two physicians to conclude that the results achieved using HIFEM technology are long-lasting.
