How a facelift with Ultherapy works

The Ultherapy treatment at OmniMed takes around 30-90 minutes, depending on the size of the area to be treated. The tissue of the skin layers to be treated is briefly warmed by the micro-focused ultrasound energy with a uniform heat of 60-70°C. This penetrates the skin surface without damaging it. It begins to denature existing collagen and produce new, dense collagen and elastin fibers.

Formation of new collagen and elastin

At a young age, there is still sufficient collagen and elastin in the skin. These two proteins are the ones that ensure firm, supple skin. However, their production decreases with age and signs of skin ageing become noticeable: the skin begins to sag and wrinkle. Treatment with Ultherapy stimulates the production of collagen and elastin again and causes the skin to produce far more of the youth-giving fibers than it would naturally produce with age. The result

As Ultherapy stimulates natural collagen production, the effect builds up over the weeks and months following treatment. It takes around 3 to 6 months for the final result to appear.
