How a facelift with Ultherapy works

The Ultherapy treatment at OmniMed takes approximately 30–90 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. During the procedure, the tissue of the targeted skin layers is briefly heated by the microfocused ultrasound energy to an even temperature of 60–70°C. This penetrates the skin's surface without damaging it. The targeted treatment at this temperature ensures that the body activates its natural healing process in the desired areas. It begins to denature existing collagen and produce new, dense collagen and elastin fibers.

Formation of new collagen and elastin

In youth, sufficient collagen and elastin are still present in the skin. These two proteins are responsible for firm, supple skin. But their production decreases with age and signs of skin aging become noticeable: the skin begins to sag and form wrinkles. A treatment with Ultherapy stimulates collagen and elastin production and causes the skin to produce far more of the youth-giving fibers than it would naturally produce with age. The result
