Laser hair removal

Consultation: In an initial consultation we jointly clarify your expectations and discuss any outstanding questions. You will also receive a cost estimate. This is followed by the first hair removal session at OmniMed.

Preparation: The hairs in the treatment area should ideally be shaved about 24 hours beforehand so that the energy can be directed specifically to the hair root.

Treatment: The first step is applying the ultrasound gel. During the treatment a special handpiece is then moved evenly over the skin. SHR technology works with gentle, repeated light pulses that gradually penetrate the hair follicles. The skin is continuously cooled, so the treatment is experienced as minimally painful.

The duration of a laser hair removal treatment depends on the area being treated. Hair removal using the SHR laser on the underarms or face takes only about 5 minutes, while treatments on the lower legs or bikini area take about 30 minutes.

Aftercare instructions: The skin is more light-sensitive immediately after the treatment – a sunscreen SPF 50 is recommended.

Follow-up treatments: Because hairs are in different growth phases, several sessions are necessary to achieve an even result. The intervals between treatments are usually several weeks depending on the body area.

Touch-up treatments: A particular advantage lies in the sustainability of the method, because with only a few treatments, some of which last only a few minutes, very good results can be achieved. However, every person has the ability to form new hair roots, even after laser hair removal. With one to two treatments per year as a “refresh” the reduced hair growth result can be maintained. With our SHR laser a treatment is possible year-round.
