TCA peeling - removes deep wrinkles
TCA peeling is one of the most effective ways of rejuvenating the skin and improving its structure through intensive cell renewal. It plays an important role in aesthetic treatments and is used successfully in the medical treatment of photoaging (light-induced skin ageing) and many other indications. Superficial, medium-deep wrinkles are visibly improved or eliminated, while deeper wrinkles are reduced. In addition to mature skin, other indications include pigmentation changes, active acne, superficial and medium-deep acne scars and coarse-pored or thickened skin.
Peeling with trichloroacetic acid (TCA) renews the skin, improving elasticity and tone for visibly rejuvenated skin. Depending on the individual requirements, the concentration determines the strength of the peeling, whereby a stronger and - if desired - a weaker deep effect can be achieved. This medical peeling is considered a medium-depth peeling and goes far beyond the effect of light peelings such as fruit acid peelings.
How the TCA peel works
This type of peeling should be used by doctors, as the application requires a high level of experience. The basis of TCA peeling is trichloroacetic acid, which denatures protein molecules in the skin in a chemical reaction within a few minutes. This special "peeling effect" loosens dead skin cells, loosens the top layer of skin and thus stimulates intensive cell renewal.
The peeling effect begins after about 1-2 days and can last for 5-7 days. As after other similar treatments, redness, a feeling of heat and slight scabbing may occur depending on sensitivity. The good effect of the peeling requires a certain "down-time" of about a week, during which you may have to refrain from social obligations. This short-term restriction is soon rewarded with rosy, fresh and plump skin. During the post-treatment period, the use of a special care cream is recommended, which strengthens the skin barrier and supports the repair and regeneration phase.
In the first few weeks after treatment, the skin area should be protected from intensive sunlight with sun protection products. Sauna sessions should be avoided for about a week.
In addition to wrinkle treatments with Botox or hyaluronic acid, TCA peeling is an additive way to improve the appearance of wrinkles in the long term and further emphasize the successful result of a wrinkle treatment.
How often do you do a TCA peel?
The peeling can be repeated depending on the strength (TCA Soft 15% or TCA 35%) and the individual wishes of the patient. The cooler, not too sunny season is always preferred. Nothing stands in the way of a fresh, natural and even complexion.
